Carbon Trade and Carbon Finance Advanced Course held at LCC

From 18th to 20th November, 2022, Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Series Course: Carbon Trade and Carbon Finance Advanced Course was successfully held by China-UK Low Carbon College, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The course aims to bring participants cutting-edge low-carbon strategic thinking, enhance awareness of technological innovation, and improve knowledge and ability to cope with carbon neutrality reform changes.Nearly 30 middle and senior managers from various fields, such as energy, environmental protection, finance, transportation, construction, information technology, investment and consulting,etc. attended the course.

On 18th November, the opening ceremony was held . Chanying Zhao, Dean of LCC gave an opening speech first. He said that carbon neutrality has become a very important strategy of global political, economic and social concern. As the first low-carbon college in China, LCC has been committed to training first-class low-carbon talents and conducting first-class scientific research for five years, and has delivered a large number of excellent composite and international innovative talents to national key industries and fields. At the same time, by introducing high-level talents, integrating scientific research groups, and vigorously building scientific research teams, LCC has established five research centers that are closely integrated with China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, and is committed to building a cross-sectional research platform for cutting-edge and common technologies in the field of low carbon and contributing to the world's sustainable development. He hoped that after the training project,trainees would able to lead their enterprises to actively adapt to the requirements of low-carbon development in the future, and have the ability to grasp the major trends and explore the direction and strategies of low-carbon development in the industry.

Renowned experts and scholars in the field of low carbon were invited to give lectures and interact with trainees. The main topics included:Energy transformation for carbon peak and carbon neutrality target - path discussion and technology outlook, strategic layout and innovative practice under the double carbon target, carbon market and carbon finance for carbon peak and carbon neutrality background, carbon sink opportunities and corporate actions, enterprise carbon asset development, management and case sharing, climate investment and financing.
