ABOUT LCC
China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is an international education pilot zone for low-carbon technology and carbon resource management established by SJTU with the participation of top universities in the UK and Singapore, under the strong support of the Shanghai municipal government. LCC is China's first low-carbon college that integrates talent cultivation, scientific research and social service. Centering on the national “Dual Carbon” strategy, the college integrates education, talent, industry and innovation chains. With global high-quality resources and an interdisciplinary, industry-embedded and internationalized development philosophy, LCC builds multi-stakeholder collaborative platforms, supports global climate governance, and provides key technological and talent guarantees for China’s carbon peaking and neutrality goals.
LCC owns a high-caliber faculty team, with all full-time staff having educational backgrounds from world-class universities overseas. Faculty members have obtained over 40 talent programs at national and municipal levels, including 6 under the National Overseas High-Level Talent Program and 22 under the Shanghai Municipal Overseas High-Level Talent Program (maintaining a 100% selection rate). The overall coverage rate of talent programs reaches 87%. The college hosts three low-carbon research centers and has undertaken more than 90 provincial/ministerial and above research projects. It has published over 500 papers in journals such as Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, PNAS and JACS.
LCC will further strengthen its expertise in low carbon energy and low carbon environment.
