Bio

Devinder, an aeronautical engineer, has held a variety of leadership and executive positions in large international airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and universities. He is an Australian national. In addition to the academic qualifications, he also holds an Aircraft Engineer License with several ratings starting from Cessna 152 to wide-body Airbus & Boeing 747-400 aircraft, and a Pilot License. Furthermore, he holds a range of other aviation professional certifications in the field of aviation management, auditing, quality & safety, human factors, dangerous goods, training the trainer, and aircraft accident/incident investigation.

 

 

Captain Kannan Perumal is a pilot with Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) for the past 26 years. He has flown the Learjet 31, B777 variants and B747-400. Currently he is flying the B787-10 fleet. Capt Kannan has a double degree in Aeronautical Engineering (UTM) and Aviation Management (Massey New Zealand). He also has a masters degree in Aeronautics (Flight Dynamics) from UTM. He was appointed as an Adjunct Professor both at the UTM Business School (Aviation Management) and Engineering Faculty and currently an adjunct at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Asia Campus). Captain Kannan is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE), Technological Association of Malaysia (TAM - Aviation) and was an ex-committee member for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Malaysia (HFEM - Chief Editor for the Journal HFEJ). He is a passionate aviator and always guides and inspires youngsters who are interested in the aviation industry.
