China-UK Low Carbon College was established in May, 2017, thanks to the joint efforts of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the University of Edinburgh and other UK universities, as well as Shanghai and Lingang government. As the first domestic low carbon college (LCC), the LCC aims for world-class innovation in higher education and research, spanning international borders, by providing graduate education, scientific research, innovation & incubation, and executive training.
Low-carbon development is an inevitable choice for China and the rest of the world in dealing with global warming. Focusing on green development strategy, the college will conduct teaching and research in low-carbon energy, low-carbon environment, carbon finance, carbon management, and low-carbon city etc. LCC’s goal is to serve as a cradle of talents for low carbon industries and to support the development of low carbon fields with cutting-edge technologies.
