Yixin Zhao is a tenured associate professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He obtained a PhD degree under advisor of Prof. Clemens Burda from Case Western Reserve University in 2010, followed by working as a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Mallouk’s group at Penn State University. In 2012, he then moved to National Renewable Energy Laboratory and collaborated with Dr. Arthur Frank, Dr. John Turner, Dr. Howard Branz and Dr. Kai Zhu. He had worked on photocatalysis, semiconductor quantum dots, thermoelectrics, water splitting and solar cells. His current research interests focus on photocatalysis for environmental remediation, perovskite solar cells and photoelectrochemical water splitting.
