Prior to teaching at SJTU, Dr. Li was a faculty member in Ningbo Institute of Industrial Technology, CAS, China. 2006, he earned his Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Jicun Ren. During his Ph.D. he investigated the aqueous synthesis and bio-application of CdTe quantum dots. His current research activities focus on the synthetic chemistry and coating technologies of semiconductor nanocrystals, including perovskite, II-VI, I-III-VI and III-V quantum dots. The studied applications range from the development of highly stable emitters for LEDs and displays to nano-sorbents for the removal of heavy metal ions from industry wastewater.
