ABOUT US

The China-UK Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, established in May 2017, is a joint initiative in the field of low carbon between two world renowned universities – Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Edinburgh. As the first low carbon college in China, LCC aims to build up a talent database of world-leading experts in the low carbon fields, lead fundamental research in low carbon disciplines, and offer executive training and innovation services for governments and enterprises.

We are seeking specialists in the areas of energy, environment, atmospheric science, geophysics, finance, and management with their research established and developed to address global climate change and GHGs emissions. Expertise qualified for the application includes but is not limited to Renewables and Energy Storage, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage, Smart Energy and Big Data, Waste Resource Utilization, Climate Change Solutions, Climate Finance, Carbon Management, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Chair Professor/Distinguished Professor/Tenured Professor/Full Professor

The successful candidate is expected to

(1) Hold a PhD in related discipline.

(2) Hold professorship in a world-class university or research institution, or have won important domestic/international awards.

(3) Have an outstanding tracking record of research achievements in the low-carbon field and demonstrate exceptional and proven leadership abilities in conducting cutting-edge, innovative and collaborative research.

(4) Enjoy a high international reputation and academic influence in the relevant fields.

(5) Applicants for chair professorships and distinguished professorships must have made systematic, groundbreaking contributions and achieved outstanding accomplishments in their academic field.

 

  1. Tenured Associate Professor/Tenure-Track Associate Professor

The successful candidate is expected to

(1) Hold a PhD in related discipline.

(2) Tenured Associate Professor applicants need 3-6 years' experience as Associate Professors or equivalent roles at universities or research institutions. Tenure-track Associate Professors require at least three-year working experience.

(3) Be able to conduct and lead independent and innovative research projects and demonstrate strong academic potential and teaching abilities.

(4) Under the age of 40.
