Description

产业生态学是一门研究社会生产活动中自然资源从源、流到汇的全代谢过程、组织管理体制以及生产、消费、调控行为的动力学机制、控制论方法及其与生命支持系统相互关系的系统科学。传统末端治理方式的弊端和清洁生产技术的局限性促使人们探求新的污染防治模式,生态学尤其是仿生学的发展激发了人们仿照自然生态系统来改造人类生产系统的想法,基于这种背景,产业生态学应运而生。传统产业系统是对开放系统的运作规律通过人工过程进行干预和改变,在一般的开放系统中资源和资金经过一系列的运作最终结果是变成废物垃圾,产业生态学所研究的就是如何把开放系统变成循环的封闭系统,使废物转为新的资源并加入新一轮的系统运行过程中。它采用工业代谢、生命周期评价和区域生态建设的方法对产业活动全过程,包括原材料采掘、原材料生产、产品制造、产品使用、产品用后处理等进行研究。产业生态学着眼于人类和生态系统的长远利益,追求经济效益、生态效益和社会效益的统一,是研究人类产业活动与自然环境相互关系的一门综合性、跨学科的应用科学。

Course Description

Industrial ecology aims to equip students with the competencies, knowledge and tools needed to analyze environmental impacts and resource constraints, to suggest and develop measures and to plan, lead, evaluate and follow up the effects of measures related to for example product development, land and resource use, energy systems, and large-scale urban planning processes. The limitations of end-of-pipe solution and cleaner production technologies inspired people of new thinking in pollution prevention and control. Industrial Ecology is an emerging field that focuses on the twin goals of economic development and environmental quality. The concept requires that an industrial system be viewed not in isolation from its surrounding systems, but in concert with them. It is a system view in which one seeks to optimize the total materials cycle, from virgin material, to finished material, to component, to product, to obsolete product, and to ultimate disposal. The whole procedure of industrial activities, including raw material extraction and production, product manufacturing, use and disposal, is qualitatively described and quantitatively modeled, based on the consideration of industrial metabolism, life-cycle assessment and region ecological construction. Industrial ecology aims at the long-term benefits of human and ecosystems, as

well as the unity of economic, ecological and social effects. Industrial Ecology

                 

 

provides a solution-oriented engineering approach to environmental and sustainability problems. It is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary applied science, which deals with the relationship between human industrial activities and natural environments.
