On September 13, the China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) held the Opening Ceremony for 2021 new students. Vice Dean Min Xu hosted the ceremony.

At the beginning, Zhao changying, Dean of LCC, extended a warm welcome to the 2021 graduate students on behalf of the college. He gave the students a comprehensive overview of the college and its achievements in terms of graduate education, scientific research, international cooperation, etc.

Xu Huijin, representative of the academic advisors, and Zhang Zhigang, Managing Director of Shanghai Neo Bay Venture Capital Co., Ltd. and representative of the college’s industry advisors, both encouraged students to shoulder the social responsibility and strive to tackle climate change issues.

Wang heying, a 2021 new student representative, called on all students to keep in mind the motto of SJTU and LCC, and make contributions to the low carbon development of the human society .

Ma Shengluo, a senior student representative, shared his experience with 2021 new students with the theme of "finding a better self".

During the ceremony, the scholarships were awarded to outstanding new students.
