The Second ESG and Sustainable Development Leadership Executive Training Program Held at SJTU

The Second ESG and Sustainable Development Leadership Executive Training Program took place from November 20 to 22, 2024, at the China-UK Low Carbon College, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The program attracted over 20 mid-to-senior-level professionals from sectors such as energy, environmental protection, and consulting, aiming to deepen their knowledge of ESG strategies, leadership roles, and sustainable development practices.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Changying Zhao, Dean of the Low Carbon College, welcomed participants and highlighted the college’s efforts in cultivating innovative low-carbon talent over the past seven years. He emphasized the program’s focus on systematic lectures and real-world case studies to enhance leadership and strategic skills for promoting sustainable development and corporate transformation.

The program featured a mix of lectures, case studies, and field visit, and participants gained insights into ESG strategy implementation under China’s dual carbon goals and learned practical lessons from academic and industry experts to address challenges in sustainable development.

On November 21, participants visited the Lujiazui Financial City Shenergy International Green Exhibition Hall to explore clean energy innovations, green finance practices, and Shenergy Group’s low-carbon projects. They engaged in discussions on ESG practices, carbon finance, and energy-saving initiatives, further enhancing their understanding of sustainable business practices.

The program concluded on November 22 with a closing ceremony. Participants expressed appreciation for the valuable knowledge and cross-industry connections gained during the program. The China-UK Low Carbon College reaffirmed its commitment to supporting ESG initiatives and fostering collaboration for sustainable development.
