LCC Launches its Southeast Asia Center in Singapore

On April 15, 2025, the LCC Southeast Asia Center was officially inaugurated at the Asia-Pacific Graduate Institute (APGI) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Singapore. Zhenbin Yang, Party Secretary of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Mr. Jun Han, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, jointly unveiled the LCC Southeast Asia Center. The ceremony was chaired by Prof. Yinghong Peng, Dean of SJTU-APGI.

Prof. Changying Zhao, Dean of the Low Carbon College, introduced the center and highlighted its role in boosting global impact and driving regional climate governance. The center will focus on international graduate education, research collaboration, and executive training to advance low-carbon innovation and promote sustainable development in Southeast Asia.

Minister-Counsellor Han praised the center as a timely initiative to strengthen China-Singapore cooperation in green development. Secretary Yang emphasized its potential to serve as a model for international collaboration and a platform for sharing China’s expertise in global green transformation.
