About LCC
The China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, established in 2017, is a pioneering joint initiative in the field of low carbon between two world-renowned universities — Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Edinburgh.
As the first college in China dedicated to low-carbon studies, LCC emphasizes interdisciplinary research across low-carbon science and technology. The college hosts five specialized research centers, a globally recruited faculty team, and state-of-the-art research facilities. In recent years, LCC has made significant progress in advancing key low-carbon technologies, supported by major national and provincial grants, including the National Key R&D Program on Hydrogen Energy, international collaboration projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Intergovernmental Cooperation Programs, and various carbon neutrality initiatives launched by the Shanghai Municipal Government. LCC faculty members have published extensively in leading journals such as Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, Nature Physics, PNAS, and JACS, contributing to the college’s growing global academic influence.
We are seeking internationally recognized scholars in the fields of low-carbon energy and low-carbon environment. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: renewable energy, energy storage, hydrogen energy, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), waste resource utilization, carbon management, climate finance, smart energy and big data.
