About LCC

Relying on the platform of Shanghai Jiao Tong University ("Double First-Class" initiative), the China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC) focuses on low-carbon interdisciplinary fields, hosts five specialized low-carbon research centers, a globally recruited faculty team and state-of-the-art research facilities.

In recent years, LCC has made significant progress in advancing key low-carbon technologies, and been supported by major national and provincial grants: including Key Projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Priority International Collaboration Projects, Special Projects on basic research funded by the Aero-engine and Gas Turbine National Science and Technology Major Project of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Key R&D Program on Intergovernmental Global Science & Technology Innovation Cooperation, Shanghai Science and Technology Support Carbon Neutrality Special Project, Shanghai International Cooperation Projects, etc. LCC faculty members have published extensively in leading journals such as Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, Nature Physics, PNAS, and JACS, contributing to the college’s growing global academic influence.

Faculty Positions

  1. Academic Leaders (Chair Professor/Distinguished Professor/Tenured Professor/ Principal Investigator)

Ideal candidates are expected to have:

  • A strong global academic vision and proven leadership in the fields of low-carbon energy and low-carbon environment (climate change and response, renewable energy and energy storage, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), waste resourcing, carbon finance, carbon management, etc);
  • A track record of leading major national projects or publishing high-level papers in international top journals during the last five years;
  • Experience in team building, with the ability to lead breakthroughs in academic orientation and drive deep industry-academia integration.

 

  1. Early-Career Researchers (Tenured Associate Professor/Tenure-track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor)

We are looking for talented early-career researchers who:

  • Are generally under 35 years old (STEM) or 38 years old (Humanities & Social Sciences), hold a doctoral degree, international experience is preferred;
  • Have published a series of innovative works in top-tier journals and demonstrate strong research potential;

Are capable of independently leading national-level youth talent programs and developing emerging interdisciplinary research directions.
