On the morning of July 23, Professor Guangzhao Mao, Head of Engineering School and her delegation from the University of Edinburgh visited the China-UK Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The visit was hosted by Chair Professor Yong Geng, Dean of LCC.

Deng Geng extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the University of Edinburgh and provided an overview on the talent cultivation, scientific research, executive training, international cooperation, faculty development and other general situation of the China-UK Low Carbon College.

Dean Mao expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome extended by LCC and introduced the history and current status of the University of Edinburgh, as well as the basic information about the School of Engineering in terms of platform operation, discipline construction, talent cultivation, and international cooperation & exchange.

In-depth discussions were then conducted on topics including the innovative joint training mode for postgraduate students, scientific research cooperation, important international conferences, recent exchanges and visits, and the directions for future cooperation. This meeting enhanced mutual understanding between the two colleges, through the exchange of advanced education experience, this has laid a solid foundation for future joint projects. Both parties will deepen and implement of the outcomes of this meeting and promote in-depth integration in talent cultivation and scientific research.

This visit has further strengthened the strategic partnership between the two parties. School of Engineering of the University of Edinburgh and the China-UK Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University will leverage the discipline advantages in respective fields to explore the new form for cultivating top-notch innovative talents with international outlook jointly, and work together to take new steps forward on the path of internationalization in education.
