LCC Young Faculty Achieved Outstanding Results in 2025 National Natural Science Foundation Project Applications

On August 27th, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the review results for applications received centrally for the 2025 National Natural Science Foundation projects. LCC secured approval for eight projects in total, including five General Projects, two Category C Youth Science Fund Projects, and one Foreign Scholar Research Project. The overall approval rate for Youth/General Projects reached 35%, reflecting a steady increase in the National Natural Science Foundation funding rate of LCC.

 

As a college targeted as special zone for international education, LCC has consistently guided young faculty to focus on international scientific frontiers and pursue free explorations based upon core problems. The college adheres to the principle of "Early Mobilization, Early Action and Early Promotion" thus to carry out organized scientific research, has been continuously strengthening the organization and guidance of NSFC project applications. Experts inside and outside of the university are both invited to provide "one-to-one subject-specific coaching", LCC has conducted multiple rounds of high-standard review for application forms, and encourages foreign postdoctoral fellows to apply with policy incentives at the same time, thus to foster a favourable research environment where all staff are collaboratively involved to make mutual improvements.

 

Looking ahead, LCC will further refine its core disciplinary directions of low-carbon, strengthen the development of scientific research teams, optimize the research management mechanisms, enhance the integration of research resources, promote the deep implementation in scientific research innovation of its distinctive educational approach – “internationalization, industry-education integration and interdisciplinary collaboration”. The college will continuously deepen the organized scientific research model, adopt multiple measures to enhance the organizational and service capabilities for fund and project applications, comprehensively upgrade its scientific research strength and competitiveness.
