Carbon Footprints Accepted for Inclusion in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)

We are pleased to announce that Carbon Footprints, an open-access journal co-founded by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and OAE Publishing Inc., has been officially indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) within Clarivate’s Web of Science, effective February 17, 2026. We extend our sincerest gratitude to all our Editorial Board members, authors, reviewers, and editors whose dedication and contributions have made this achievement possible.

This milestone highlights the journal’s academic quality and global impact. Since its launch, Carbon Footprints has also been indexed in Scopus, Lens and ASCI, and is expected to receive its first Impact Factor in 2027.

Carbon Footprints is an international, gold open-access journal committed to advancing quantitative and qualitative understanding of: Greenhouse-gas and air-pollutant emissions (CO2, CH4, N2O, particulate matter, etc.); Low-carbon energy transitions and related technologies; Interactions between carbon, energy use, air pollutants, and socio-environmental systems. The journal illuminates the patterns, drivers, and mitigation pathways of carbon and pollutant footprints across natural, urban, industrial, and economic systems. It is now included in databases such as ESCI, Scopus, Lens and ASCI.
