On April 22, a delegation led by Phang Yew Keong, Associate Dean at the Business School of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, visited the China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC). Guo Liang, Chief of LCC, met and held discussions with the delegation. Ren Tao, Assistant Dean of LCC, and other related faculties also attended the meeting.

Guo Liang extended a warm welcome to Phang Yew Keong and his delegation, Ren Tao provided an overview of LCC. The two sides engaged in constructive exchanges and reached a number of agreements. Guo Liang noted that LCC is the very first institution in China that dedicated to the low-carbon sector, featuring on its educational model that deeply integrates industry and academia, its fully English-taught curriculum, its close collaboration with universities worldwide, and its cutting-edge research in interdisciplinary fields such as carbon finance, carbon management and sustainable development.

Phang Yew Keong introduced that the vision of Nanyang Business School (NBS) is to cultivate thought leaders with far-reaching global influence, empowering graduates not only to adapt to future changes but also to lead future transformations. He noted that NBS aims to foster the spirit of innovation through interdisciplinary exploration, cultivate leadership with cross-cultural competence, and spearhead sustainability-driven transformation, this is precisely in line with the approach of LCC. In the future, both parties will combine their respective strengths and work together to cultivate world-class ‘Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality’ talents.

This in-depth exchange with NBS will further expand the breadth and depth of LCC’s international cooperation network and strengthen its influence in the field of global green education and research.

Prior to the meeting, the delegation visited the Dishui Cloud Hall in Lin-gang Special Area, where they gained a comprehensive overview of the urban planning, living facilities and amenities, institutional policy framework, and ecological landscape of Lin-gang through the ‘Source, Tide, Port, Surge, Bay’ panorama, experienced the international and digital ‘Lin-gang Reception Hall’. The delegation also toured the main building and other facilities of LCC accompanied by the college leadership, gaining a detailed understanding of the infrastructure and research facilities.
