To further advance the integration of industry and education and promote the seamless alignment of the education chain, talent chain and industrial chain, on the afternoon of May12, Geng Yong, Dean of the China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, led a delegation to visit Shanghai Center for Energy-Saving and Emission-Reduction Co., LTD (hereinafter referred to as ESER). ESER Deputy Chief Engineer Yu Bo, Director of the General Administration Department Pu Junjun, Senior Marketing Manager of the Market Operations Department Fu Caifeng, Project Manager of the Resource Recycling Business Department Xu Liquan (LCC alumnus), Project Manager of the Energy Business Department Lu Yan (LCC alumna) and relevant faculties attended the meeting.

Yu Bo outlined the development history, business overview and overall strategic layout of Shanghai Investment Consulting Group Co., Ltd. (SICC). As a comprehensive professional think tank in the field of state-owned assets in Shanghai, the Group has consistently strived to be a source of optimal solutions, an integrator of consultancy service and an independent voice of wisdom. Xu Liquan, the LCC alumnus graduated in 2021 session, outlined the core business sectors of ESER, systematically presented the operations and collaborative case studies across the energy, low-carbon and environmental sectors. ESER has evolved into a high-level think tank for research into major government policy planning, a decision-making advisor for enterprises in the fields of energy, carbon neutrality and the environment, and a platform driving the sustainable development of a green and low-carbon society.

Geng Yong provided an overview of LCC, its achievements in talent development and its strengths in research. He noted that ESER has accumulated extensive practical experience and resource advantages within the industry, and the discipline orientation and operational fields of both parties are highly complementary. He expressed his hope that both parties would further deepen their all-round cooperation in areas such as collaborative research and innovation, the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and the training and supply of talents, thereby achieving complementary strengths and coordinated development, and jointly serving the nation’s major strategic needs.

During the exchange and discussion session, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on areas such as operation collaboration, joint research initiatives, talent recruitment and development, and the co-construction of platforms. Both sides will further strengthen their coordination and collaboration, promote the sharing of resources, and establish a more comprehensive, closer and deeper partnership.

During the visit, the delegation also met with LCC alumni Xu Liquan (2021 session) and Lu Yan (2022 session), conveying the college’s warm regards.

In the future, LCC will continue to focus on the national ‘dual carbon’ strategic goals, deepen collaborative partnerships with key industry organizations, align talent development precisely with industrial needs, and promote the deep integration of research outcomes with industry practice, thereby injecting strong momentum into the nation’s green, low-carbon and high-quality development.
