1. About LCC

China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is an international education pilot zone for low-carbon technology and carbon resource management established by SJTU with the participation of top universities in the UK and Singapore, under the strong support of the Shanghai municipal government. LCC is China's first low-carbon college that integrates talent cultivation, scientific research and social service. Centering on the national “Dual Carbon” strategy, the college integrates education, talent, industry and innovation chains. With global high-quality resources and an interdisciplinary, industry-embedded and internationalized development philosophy, LCC builds multi-stakeholder collaborative platforms, supports global climate governance, and provides key technological and talent guarantees for China’s carbon peaking and neutrality goals.

LCC owns a high-caliber faculty team, with all full-time staff having educational backgrounds from world-class universities overseas. Faculty members have obtained over 40 talent programs at national and municipal levels, including 6 under the National Overseas High-Level Talent Program and 22 under the Shanghai Municipal Overseas High-Level Talent Program (maintaining a 100% selection rate). The overall coverage rate of talent programs reaches 87%. The college hosts three low-carbon research centers and has undertaken more than 90 provincial/ministerial and above research projects. It has published over 500 papers in journals such as Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, PNAS and JACS.

LCC will further strengthen its expertise in low carbon energy and low carbon environment. Focusing on carbon finance discipline development, the college will recruit high-level interdisciplinary talents in carbon finance, carbon management, low-carbon policy, energy and environment. Priority will be given to researchers with combined engineering, economics and management backgrounds and international teaching experience, to build an integrated humanities-science-engineering low-carbon discipline system.

3. Faculty Positions 

Academic Leaders (Chair Professor/Distinguished Professor/Tenured Professor/ Principal Investigator)

Ideal candidates are expected to have:

  • Outstanding global academic vision and proven leadership capacity in the aforementioned fields;

  • A track record of leading major national projects or publishing high-level papers in top international journals over the past five years;

  • Experience in team building, with the ability to spearhead disciplinary breakthroughs and drive deep industry-university-research integration.

 

Early-Career Researchers (Tenured Associate Professor/Tenure-track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor)

We are looking for talented early-career researchers who:

    • Are generally under 35 years old (STEM) or 40 years old (Humanities & Social Sciences), hold a doctoral degree; international experience is preferred;

    • Have published a series of innovative research outputs in top-tier journals and demonstrate strong research potential;

    • Are capable of independently leading national-level youth talent programs and developing emerging interdisciplinary research directions.
