On May 28, the China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC) held a thematic seminar on short-term international exchange programmes. Guo Liang, Chief of LCC, the visiting faculties and students, as well as the representatives of faculty members and international students from LCC attended the seminar. Representatives from France, Thailand, Malaysia and so forth gathered to discuss academic exchange and cooperation, the international atmosphere in LCC was further strengthened.

Guo Liang extended her best wishes to the Malaysian international students who were about to complete their exchange here and depart China, whilst welcoming and expressing her high hopes for the four newly-arrived visiting faculties and students. The two Malaysian students shared their experiences during their stay in LCC, including the insights gained from participating in cutting-edge research projects on “dual carbon” topics under the guidance of their supervisor - Dr Chong Cheng Tung and the research groups, as well as the warm daily interactions they had when exploring the campus and experiencing Chinese culture alongside the faculty members and students of LCC. Guo Liang acknowledged the research progress made by the two students during their exchange in LCC, as well as the contributions them have made for bringing new vitality to the diverse academic culture of LCC, and wished them every success in their future academic journeys. The newly-arrived visiting faculties and students introduced their respective projects, collaborating supervisors and research fields, and expressed their anticipation for the low-carbon research journeys they were about to embark upon.

During the exchange session, participating faculty members and students took turns to introduce themselves and outline the research focus of their respective research groups. In-depth discussions centred on the opportunities for initiating short-term international exchanges, channels for establishing connections (including international conferences and academic visits), and the existing collaborative projects available. This seminar provided an excellent opportunity for international staff and students from various countries, backgrounds and fields to get to know one another. Small-group, in-depth discussions were later conducted to further deepen mutual understanding and spark ideas for academic collaboration.

This seminar forged bonds of international exchange in a relaxed manner, further strengthening the open and inclusive international environment in LCC. It laid a solid foundation for expanding international cooperation channels and attracting more global outstanding talents to LCC for future exchanges.
