Hunan Province "Climate Change Workshop" Successfully Held in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province

Focusing on the implementation of the carbon peak target and carbon neutrality vision, strengthening the knowledge and capacity of cadres in the ecological environment department of Hunan Province is the key to actively responding to climate change and helping the country achieve the carbon peak strategic target, actively exploring innovative experiences and practices, improving the management capacity of low-carbon development, and strengthening capacity building training on climate change is the core. Therefore, a training course on "Responding to Climate Change" in Hunan Province was held in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province from May 25 to 28, hosted by the Atmospheric Environment and Climate Change Department of Hunan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, organized by China-UK Low Carbon College, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and co-organized by Hunan Lianchuang Low Carbon Economic Development Center. About 190 participants from 14 municipal and state ecological and environmental bureaus and 144 county ecological and environmental departments in Hunan Province attended the training.

In the following days, experts from various research fields were invited to give lectures, and the courses were designed with a strong focus, including "Energy Strategy and Energy Transition under the Goal of Carbon Neutrality", "Carbon Neutral Economics and Climate Change Governance System", "Climate Change Science Process and International Experience", "Greenhouse Gas Emission Statistics and Accounting System and Assessment", "Carbon Neutral Pathways and Policies", "Climate Investment and Finance", etc. Carbon Neutrality Pathways and Policies", "Climate Investment and Financing", etc. Through a combination of listening, thinking, discussing, exchanging, researching and self-learning, the cadre participants further deepened their understanding of the key work on climate change, and also promoted the work exchange among cities and states.
