On the afternoon of November 15th, the Seventh (2023) Shanghai Jiao Tong University China-UK Low Carbon College Industry-University-Research Cooperation Forum and Student-Teacher Meeting was successfully held in the auditorium on the fifth floor of the main building of the college. Nearly 50 industrial mentors and representatives from partner companies were invited to participate. Lin Xiujuan, Director of the Information Technology Department of the Employment Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhao Changying, Dean of the China-UK Low Carbon College, Xu Min, Deputy Secretary of the China-UK Low Carbon College, Ren Tao, Assistant Dean of the China-UK Low Carbon College, and academic mentor representatives attended the forum. Zhao Changying first gave a welcome speech and introduced the overall situation of the China-UK Low Carbon College. He said that the China-UK Low Carbon College is committed to becoming a low carbon college with global influence that integrates talent training, scientific research, and high-end training. Since its establishment, the college has made many efforts in talent training. In the past seven years, the college has actively explored the cooperative education model of industry-university-research, broadened the channels for joint education and training with enterprises, established links with more than 500 related enterprises and industry associations, signed 28 internship and employment bases, and established a team of more than 220 industrial mentors. The college adheres to the integrated development of industry-university-research integration, closely combines scientific research and enterprise practice in teaching, in order to form a long-term interaction between teaching, scientific research, and practice, and also build a win-win industrial chain interaction platform for industrial mentors to carry out cooperation and communication in multiple levels, multiple ways, and multiple forms to achieve mutual advantage sharing between the college and enterprises.

Lin Xiujuan made an employment report titled "Employment Choices of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Students in the New Era". She emphasized the "Four in One" educational philosophy centered on value guidance, and committed to cultivating innovative and outstanding talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor, including academic masters, state-run talents, industry leaders and cultural elites. She analyzed the current employment situation, and oriented to the major strategic needs of the country, focusing on ability cultivation and shaping of family and country feelings. She encouraged low-carbon students to focus on six key directions, pay attention to important industries and key areas of the country, and choose careers that meet the major strategic needs of the country, reflect the talent cultivation orientation of the school, and focus on personal long-term development in the future.

Qi Kang, deputy general manager of Shanghai Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction Center Co., Ltd. and representative of the 2023 industry mentor, delivered a keynote speech on "Talent Demand and Talent Cultivation Suggestions for the Formation of the Dual Carbon Goal". First of all, he said that the demand for low-carbon talents in various industries is increasingly prominent. At the same time, he explained that the integration of industry, academia and research is a process of integration and win-win. Both universities and industries should be demand-oriented, and cooperate to establish a school-enterprise collaboration model and platform. He also hoped to complement each other with the advantages of low-carbon colleges in talent cultivation, scientific research, high-end training and employment guidance, so as to promote the comprehensive integration and transformation of teaching and scientific research achievements, and realize the vision of win-win cooperation between industry and academia.

At the exhibition of the practice of industry-university-research cooperation, Yu Haishan, academic mentor and professional practice project instructor of the Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiaotong University, introduced the low carbon professional practice curriculum project. Through the integration and matching of industry and education resources, the project further cultivates students' industry cognitive ability, practical research ability, and innovation and entrepreneurship ability, helps industries solve practical problems, and promotes the transformation of scientific research achievements. As an important carrier of the industry-university-research cooperation model of the Low Carbon College, the professional practice curriculum not only helps to enhance students' in-depth understanding and practical ability in the industry, but also strengthens the connection between schools and enterprises through the form of industry-university-research cooperation, and jointly promotes the development of low carbon research.

Subsequently, the award ceremony for professional practice achievements was held. The college selected 15 representative projects with low-carbon characteristics for poster presentation, and comprehensively selected 5 outstanding projects as the professional practice achievement awards of this year, including "Carbon Sequestration Assessment and Management of Urban Ecological Space in the Context of Carbon Neutrality", "Research on Image Preprocessing of Remote Sensing Carbon Monitoring Spectrometer", "Low Carbon Concept and Technology Application in the Planning and Design Process of Great Wall Construction Group Headquarters Base", "Research on Carbon Sequestration Monitoring Based on Remote Sensing Images", and "Carbon Neutral Capital Operation Series - Global Industrial Structure and Capital Operation Characteristics of Wind Energy".

Hong Bin, Managing Director of Guojin Dingxing Investment Co., Ltd., Independent Director of Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group, and Industrial Mentor of Class 2022, shared his reflections on the representative project of professional practice. Their award-winning project practice titled "Carbon Neutral Capital Operation Series - Global Industry Structure and Capital Operation Characteristics of Wind Energy" depicted the basic logic of financial tools and capital operation by focusing on the wind energy industry, helping to promote innovation and technological progress to encourage capital investment in the new energy industry layout. He hopes to further transform university technology achievements into marketable products, open up the "last mile" from university research to industrial parks, and promote the practice of incubating, transforming, and industrializing scientific and technological innovation achievements.

In order to further strengthen the cooperation between the college and the employer, deepen the integration of production and learning, and optimize the talent cultivation mode of higher education, with the witness of all the leaders and guests, Zhao Changying, on behalf of the Low Carbon College, solemnly signed a cooperation agreement on the establishment of a joint internship and employment base with four units, namely, Shanghai Electric Group Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Baosteel Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Economic Information Center, and Zhejiang Zheneng Carbon Asset Management Co., Ltd., and held a solemn unveiling ceremony.

Finally, the forum held a grand ceremony to award the appointment letter of industry mentor for the 2023 master's degree students. It is expected that the industry mentors with senior industry and life experience will actively play a leading role in guiding the low-carbon students to comprehensively improve their innovation and practical abilities, and the school-enterprise joint efforts will jointly promote the cultivation of low-carbon talents and the incubation of low-carbon technology achievements.
