The 8th China-UK Low Carbon College Industry-Academia Collaboration Forum and Faculty-Student Meeting (2024) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was successfully held on November 13, 2024. The event welcomed nearly 50 industry advisors and representatives from partner companies, along with LCC leadership, academic advisors, and all students of the 2024 cohort.
In the opening remarks, Prof. Changying Zhao, Dean of LCC, emphasized the importance of integrated industry-academia collaboration for the college’s development and introduced the college’s unique training model.
The forum featured three keynote presentations on industry-education integration, innovation and entrepreneurship, and sustainable transportation, delivered by industry experts.
During the forum, 26 professional practice projects or research topics in the low-carbon field were evaluated, with five outstanding projects receiving the Professional Practice Achievement Award. Min Zhao, Director of Shanghai Pollution and Carbon Reduction Management and Operation Technology Center, shared reflections on the award-winning project titled "Research on Performance Evaluation Methods for Synergy in Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction in the Power Industry."
Additionally, the college presented the Best Employer Award (Zhejiang Provincial Economic Information Center, Envision Energy) and the Annual Special Contribution Award (China Power Investment Ronghe Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., Shanghai Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Center) to thank partner companies and institutions for their support.
At the forum, LCC also signed internship and employment base partnership agreements with six organizations, including China Electrical Equipment Group Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Huabao Securities Co., Ltd., Ouyeel Yunshang Co., Ltd., Shanghai Lin-gang Green Economic Development Co., Ltd., KPMG Huazhen Certified Public Accountants (Special General Partnership) Shanghai Branch, and Suzano (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd.
The forum concluded with the 2024 master’s student advisor appointment ceremony, expressing hopes that both academic and industry advisors will play a leading role in talent cultivation and low-carbon technology incubation.
